“Birth is an experience that demonstrates that life is not merely function and utility, but form and beauty.” – Christopher Largen
Give birth to.
Can you guess what question I typed into google search that provided me with the above answer?
This is the weekend where mothers in many countries around the world are celebrated. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day.
Isn’t every day a mother’s day? Isn’t every day your day and my day?
Why would you only celebrate or honor someone on a particular day when that someone is present every day? Or is she? Are you present every day?
My dear mentor and teacher, Mary Morrissey, once shared the following sentence with me. It landed deeply within me. I would like to expand this wisdom by sharing it with you, especially today. Ponder it, every day. “Some people live a full life for 90 years. Some people live a year repeated 90 times.”
Which life would you like to embrace and truly live?
We give birth to something, every day, whether we are aware of it or not. We are all ‘mothers’ because we give birth to something (if we’re not careful, it’ll be the same nothing), daily. What offspring we give birth to through our action?
Happy brand-new Mother’s Day — to you and me.
Give birth to beauty, to peace, to joy, to expansion and growth. Give birth to a better version of you. The Universe will smile with you now and forever.
